Barbara J. Matteson {Gold-glass​}

Gold-glass is the term used to designate gold foil fused between pieces of glass.  I create my Gold-glass figurative drawings in a manner similar to scratchboard artwork.  I engrave  each drawing in 23 kt gold foil burnished onto colored glass, later removing the excess foil.  I preserve each drawing by fusing clear glass onto the colored glass.  Each drawing is of a live model.  Nudes are my preferred subject matter.  Each art piece is one of a kind.  The richness achieved by combining gold with colored glass complements my figurative artwork.
